Debunking Astrology
The Gift of Astrology: A Light in the Dark
Imagine knowing nothing about astrology, yet spending countless hours gazing at the night sky.
As a careful observer, you would eventually notice something curious: a small group of objects—seven, to be exact—that didn’t stay fixed like the stars behind them. Instead, they wandered.
The ancient Greeks had a word for “wanderer”: planet.
With the naked eye, early sky watchers could see seven such wanderers—the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Mars, Venus, Jupiter, and Saturn—moving slowly through the constellations.
These constellations, imagined as animals forming a great celestial circle, became known as the zodiac, from the Greek for “circle of animals.” Much later, with the invention of the telescope, Uranus (1781), Neptune (1846), and Pluto (1930) joined the list of known planetary wanderers.
Patterns in the Sky, Patterns in Life
Over time, careful observers began to notice correlations.
The movements of the planets, Sun, and Moon through the zodiac aligned with the seasons, the tides, the winter solstice, and the appearance of the harvest moon.
And perhaps even more intriguingly, these celestial patterns seemed to echo human experience—our feelings, thoughts, and actions.
A time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance…
What Astrology Is (and Isn’t)
When I first began studying astrology, I secretly hoped it would solve all my problems.
It never has.
Not once.
Life still happens.
The dishwasher breaks.
The car needs winter tires.
Problems remain a constant companion.
But astrology was never meant to erase challenges.
Its true gift is this:
it turns on a few lightbulbs.
A Roadmap, Not a Rescue
Astrology doesn’t remove obstacles—it helps illuminate the path through them.
It has given me a way to understand myself more clearly, to recognize patterns, strengths, and inner resources I didn’t know I possessed.
Think of astrology as a roadmap. By studying it, I’ve discovered greater resilience, self-awareness, and perspective. The terrain of life hasn’t changed—but my ability to navigate it has.
Yes, my life still has problems, and it always will.
But now, I meet them with a little more grace, wisdom, and insight.
And sometimes, that makes all the difference.
